Which doctor do I need to see?

Ok, I apologize for this being a "too much info" question. But here goes. I'm having trouble losing weight. I have been on a diet and excercising 5 times a week for 60-90 minutes each time for 6 months. I'm not starving. I eat very well, and I take care of myself. I have not lost one pound. It's pretty discouraging. I think it has something to do with.."chronic irregularity" for lack of a better way to put it. However, I AM regular.very regular almost excessive one week out of the month during my cycle. So I don't know if its a hormone problem or a digestive problem. I don't have time or money to be taking off all the time to see different docs and having them all refer me to someone else. Does anyone know whether this would call for a trip to my OBGYN? or the internist?? Thanks.Which doctor do I need to see?
It could be a thyroid problem. Talk to your doctor. Maybe you should get some blood work done. It doesn't hurt and it can be very helpful. Also, progesterone effects your thyriod. Maybe you have a hormone problem... you never know. Either way, go see your family doctor and see what he/she has to say. They may tell you to go see an ob/gyn or they may tell you you have something wrong. Go see a family doctor first, then see what he/she has to say.
Although you have not lost weight you may have lost inches as you lose fat and build muscle.
Before you start a round of doctor visits you might add a fiber product like Benefiber and Activa yogurt to your diet.
The specialist that deals with digestive problems is a Gastroenterologist
I would agree to go to a Gastroenterologist doctor because they deal with bloating, irritability, irregularly, constipation, IBS. If you are interested about learning more about these type of doctors go to the ebsite at the bottom.
